Safeguarding, support and duty of care at TRS

At TRS Training, learner wellbeing, safety and success are central to how we deliver training. We have a clear duty of care to all learners, with enhanced safeguarding and support in place for 16–18-year-olds, young adults and vulnerable learners.

Safeguarding learners

TRS is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment for every learner.

Our safeguarding duty of care covers learner welfare, wellbeing, mental health awareness, online safety and professional conduct. We are mindful that safeguarding risks are present beyond the learning and work environment. All staff receive regular safeguarding training and understand how to identify concerns early and respond appropriately.

Full safeguarding arrangements, roles and procedures are detailed in our Safeguarding Policy.

Preventing radicalisation and extremism

We are committed to protecting learners from the risks of radicalisation and extremism. As part of our safeguarding duty, we follow the Prevent guidance to help ensure learners are not exposed to harmful influences, extremist narratives or pressure to support terrorism. We work to create an inclusive learning environment where respect, critical thinking and open discussion are encouraged.

All staff are trained to recognise early warning signs of radicalisation and know how to respond appropriately. Any concerns about extremist views, behaviour changes or online safety risks are taken seriously and reported through our safeguarding procedures. Our aim is to support learners, address vulnerabilities and ensure they remain safe both inside and outside of training.

Please contact our safeguarding team if you have any concerns relating to this.

Training support

TRS provides continuous support throughout every course to help learners stay engaged, progress confidently and achieve their goals.

Learner support includes:

  • One-to-one coaching and progress reviews
  • Additional revision or catch-up sessions where required
  • Regular contact with experienced trainers and skills coaches
  • Ongoing support by phone or email throughout the programme

Support is proactive, responsive and tailored to individual needs.

Support for additional needs

We are committed to inclusive training and equal access to learning. TRS works proactively to identify learners who may need additional support and to remove barriers to participation.

Support may include reasonable adjustments, alternative learning formats or additional learning support. Adjustments are personalised, agreed with the learner and reviewed regularly to ensure they remain effective and appropriate.

Employer support and guidance

TRS works in partnership with employers to support learners in the workplace. Our skills coaches and specialist staff, including qualified mental health ,and advice and guidance professionals, provide practical advice to help employers support their employees during training.

Many employers view TRS as an extension of their HR team, offering expert advice and support that benefits both learners and the business.
