Course overview

This funded, flexible 6-week online course provides in-depth knowledge and practical skills tailored to transport operations. Great for individuals looking to advance their careers or for employers seeking to upskill their teams. The programme also includes funded Operator Licence Awareness Training (OLAT), ensuring participants gain the latest insights into transport legislation, compliance, and industry best practice.

This course is for anyone looking for a job opportunity, a new role, or a career change within transport operations, as well as current staff who want to upskill and develop their leadership skills in the transport industry.

  • Operator Licence Awareness Training (OLAT), delivered by the Road Haulage Association

This is an online course, delivered by a tutor one day a week for 6 weeks. Participants will need access to a computer/ laptop that has a microphone, camera and internet access.

At the end of the course, the participate undertakes a 25-question assessment including some multiple choice, and must achieve 50%.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants are issued with a certificate from TRS and a certificate from the RHA for the completion of OLAT training.

This Skills Bootcamp is funded via the Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils which means it is available to eligible businesses and candidates at a fraction of commercial costs:

  • Businesses with less than 250 staff pay: £200+VAT per participant
  • Larger businesses pay: £600 + VAT per participant
  • Participants: no cost to individuals doing the course.

(Commercial cost of this course is £2000)

Upon completing the course, if you are unemployed you’ll be guaranteed a job interview. Self-employed participants can use their new skills to expand business opportunities, while those supported by their current employer will gain access to new roles or additional responsibilities within their organisation. 

Individuals who have completed this course can progress onto the Transport Manager CPC course as a progression.

To participate on this Skills Bootcamp, candidates must:

  • Live or work in a Norfolk County Council or Suffolk County Council postcode area
  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Have not participated in another funded Skills Bootcamp since 1st April 2025
  • Have Right To Work in the UK status or exemptions

No prior knowledge is required to enrol!
